1.Bigdata->

  • Term used to describes the large volume of data(both structured and unstructured) and this term used for data sets that is large and complex.

2.Characteristics->    
  • Volume->(amount of data growing day by day)
  • Velocity->(pace at which different source generated the data everyday)
  • Variety->(structured,semi-structured,unstructured)
  • Veracity->(data in doubt or uncertainty of data)
  • Value->(turning data into value i.e adding benefits to organizing who is analyzing big data )
3.Types of Big Data->

Structured
Semi-structured
Unstructured

Structured->
  • data can be stored and processed in fixed format
  • data store in RDBMS
  • Sql is often used to manage such kind of Data
Semi-structured->
  • Does not have formal structure of data model
  • example of s-s->XML file and  JSON document
Unstructured->
  • Data which are unknown form and cannot be stored in RDBMS.
  • analyzed unless it transformed to structure
4.Examples of Big Data
  • Walmart-> handle more than 1 million customer
  • Facebook-> stores 30+ Petabytes
  • Twitter->230+ tweet everyday
  • Youtube->48 hours video every minutes etc............
