- Term used to describes the large volume of data(both structured and unstructured) and this term used for data sets that is large and complex.

- Volume->(amount of data growing day by day)
- Velocity->(pace at which different source generated the data everyday)
- Variety->(structured,semi-structured,unstructured)
- Veracity->(data in doubt or uncertainty of data)
- Value->(turning data into value i.e adding benefits to organizing who is analyzing big data )
3.Types of Big Data->
Structured
Semi-structured
Unstructured
Structured->
- data can be stored and processed in fixed format
- data store in RDBMS
- Sql is often used to manage such kind of Data
Semi-structured->
- Does not have formal structure of data model
- example of s-s->XML file and JSON document
Unstructured->
- Data which are unknown form and cannot be stored in RDBMS.
- analyzed unless it transformed to structure
