most probable and logical reason could be that in old times, the people from barber caste used to do the job of cutting hair and they had no weekly offs. Hence, in that way, they used to get a weekly off on Saturday. Plus, many people in India prefer to cut hair/nails on Sundays. In general, there used to be only one or two barbers in a village. Therefore, on Sunday the workload would be maximum and therefore, they were able to relax and prepare themselves for the rest of the week.
5. Why do we apply turmeric(haldi) to bride and groom before wedding?
-It fulfills a moisturizing function for both and antiseptic, disinfecting the skin and immunizing the body, preventing weakness, diseases, and infections, especially viral before the ceremony. Some couples who have gone through the haldi ceremony will be healthier, stronger and less stressed, because, in contact with turmeric, the brain will release less cortisol, causing anxiety, worries, and nervousness before the big day.

It is performed by taking seven rounds together of the holy fire and pronouncements of seven promises by the groom to the bride having pole star- ध्रुव तारा- as witness, each round for each promises made and mutually agreed upon---
1. तीर्थवर्तोद्यापन यज्ञकर्म मया सहैव प्रियवयं कुर्या
वामागंमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति वाक्यं प्रथमं कुमारी
She asks him to associate her in all religious rites, worships, fastings, pilgrimages etc, as they are best accomplished as a couple.
2. पूज्यौ यथा स्वौ पितरौ ममापि तथेशभक्तौ निज कर्म कुर्याः
वामागंमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनम् द्वितीयं
She asks him to be respectful to her parents too, like his own parents so that to bring the two families closer and also to enable herself to be equally attentive to her parents,
3. जीवनम् अवस्थात्रये मम् पालनां कुर्यात
वामागंमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनम् तृतीयं
She asks him to take care of her in all three stages of adolescence, youth and old age or for the whole of her life, for a more permanent relationship,
4. कुटुम्बसंपालनसर्वकार्य कर्तु प्रतिज्ञां यदि कातं कुर्या
वामागंमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनम् चतुर्थं
She asks him to stand on his feet and be economically independent to properly sustain his family, which is very important,
5. स्वसद्यकार्ये व्यवहारकर्मण्ये व्यये ममापि मंत्रयेथा
वामागंमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रूते वचः पंचमत्र कन्या
She asks him to engage her too in decision making process related to financial matters, thus asserts her right as an equal and active partner,
6. न मेपमानमं सविधे सखीनां द्यूतं न वा दुर्व्यसनमं भंजश्चेत
वामागंमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनम् च षष्ठम्
She asks him not to insult her before her friends or anybody else and refrain from gambling or other bad habits thus ensuring her self- respect, dignity as well as good conduct of her husband,
7. परस्त्रियं मातृसमां समीक्ष्य स्नेहं सदा चेन्मयि कांत कुर्या
वामागंमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रूते वचः सप्तममत्र कन्या
She asks him to treat other women as mother and not to allow any other woman between them for her security as well as the marriage to survive.
7. Why you shouldn't sleep at evening?
- During the evenings following the sunset, people switch on the lights in and around the house. In several houses, it is a regular daily practice to light lamps around this time in the puja altar as well as ion the either sides of the main entrance. It is believed that this act will help ward of the evil forces outside the house and also provide a welcome signal to the gods who re passing by.
- Sleeping in the evening is said to affect the digestion too. Therefore, if we are health conscious, then it is better to avoid sleeping during that time and spend the time purposefully in other useful acts instead.
- Sleeping in evening time is suppose to be bad luck,sign of highest laziness,sign of unhealthy character. that's why it is said that one should not sleep in evening. The science beyond this is morning and evening times are transition period the atmospheric energy levels are switching one type to another opposite type and there is reaction on body to avoid this or reduce the impact one should be active ,cautious. Like when season changes we find heavy rush toward doctors that is body reaction same is here. That’s why in Indian tradition we do exercise or pray to God during this period morning and evening.
- If you sleep in the evening you will not get good sleep at night and hence will not be able to do your best the next day.
8.Why Gobar Is Applied On Walls And Floors Of India?
Cow Dung acts as a natural mosquito repellent. Mosquitoes stay away from such places. The floor which is coated with cow Dung remains warm in winters and cold in summers. In rural areas, people apply cow-dung on outer walls of their homes and let them dry. Villagers use these dry cow dung cakes as fuel (cook).

“Ji” means respected. If we wanted to give respect to someone than we put “ji” after his name like Shubham ji, Mark ji or Salim ji etc.
